My need
My current situation is that I have three children and they need the computer to do their homework. At times the teacher assigns work that can only be done on a computer, and since we don't have one, we can't do it. There are also games and exercises that my children should be doing but they are limited in what they can do because we don't have anything for them right now.
Meeting this need will help me because this is what my kids need and because they won't have a chance to succeed without this. They will have a better future. I want my children to graduate from college and to be successful in life. I don't want them to have to suffer like we have.
My situation
Right now, my biggest challenge is I live in a studio with 3 children, and my husband doesn't make enough money to buy a computer at this time.
This will mean that my children will be able to succeed in school and hopefully make it to college. We were only able to go through 6th grade in school. I regret now that that's the choice I made and I want to make sure that my children get all the way through school to be successful. I am learning English, but it is slow. I know that I must do that to have more opportunities here. We want to give our children all of the opportunities possible so they can work hard and succeed.

I have known Laura for four months when she started parenting classes at one of the public libraries. She took not only the classes but also the home visits. In the first home visit I notice they needed a bigger apartment because they are five people living in a studio. In the last home visits she stated that her older son needed a computer for school. Her son will start fourth grade next year and he will need it to do homework.
Laura is a very caring mother and is really concerned about her children's education. She wants to be prepared to support her child to go through college, not only High school but college.
I think meeting this need is important because her son will be able to learn how to explore in the internet about school subjects. It will also help him do homework and be successful in school which in a long run will lead him to college.
This will move the recipient's life forward by her children become better students and have better grades. If her older child gets a computer he will be able to succeed in school. Her child will become a better reader and therefore a better student which will help him and his brothers go to college some day and have better future than they have now.
