Jeff from Chicago, IL

I have overcome homelessness! Furniture will make my new apartment feel like home.

I was homeless for 2 years. Now that I'm housed, I need help purchasing furniture and houseware to feel secure as I find full-time employment.

My need and situation

I am a 31 year old coming out of homelessness that lasted for approximately 2 years. I have recently got my own apartment and am getting ready to attend college for business.

My goals are to furnish my apartment and to become a Certified Public Accountant. I was recently accepted into City Colleges to study business as my first step toward becoming a CPA. I have had experience preparing taxes, which made me consider a career in accounting.

I need furniture for my apartment. Right now, I only have pots and pans. I've been in my place for 3 months, but because I'm unemployed I haven't been able to purchase what I need to settle in.

Meeting this need will help me because having furniture will provide a more stable living environment for me. I won't need to sleep on the floor, and I'm excited to have a table and chair to study at.

Thank you for helping Jeff fund this need.

I first met Jeff at the shelter he was staying at back in November. Shortly after meeting, Jeff was able to procure and apartment for himself. Jeff is dedicated to his goal of becoming a CPA and has been taking classes for quite some time, so his acceptance into college has been very exciting! Jeff is thoughtful, hard working, and excited for his independence, and any help you can send his way will be put to good use.
