Soni from Modesto, CA

I'm studying to become a nurse. A basic laptop will help me complete my program!

Between my time volunteering at the hospital & going to class, I don't have time to head to the library every day!

My need and situation

I am a student at Modesto Junior College majoring in nursing and minoring in early childhood development. I also volunteer at a local hospital. I am having a difficult time finishing up my required school work in a timely manner due to the fact that I don’t have access to a laptop.

My immediate goal is to complete my community college degree. My long term goal to become a registered pediatric nurse.

I need a laptop. My courses require a lot of project work. My school work gets overwhelming when I am not able to finish my work on time, due to the library being closed when I need computer and internet access. I would like to further my education and to not remain stagnant. The laptop I was considering purchasing is 600 dollars, but any donations would be kindly appreciated, and would help me out a great deal in finishing my school work and completing my two year degree.

Meeting this need will help me because a laptop will allow me to complete my school work on time, regardless of the library being closed when I need it.

I have known Soni for five years. She is a highly motivated individual. Today it is difficult it is to function in contemporary society without a personal computer. Libraries in California often have a one hour time limit for computer usage because the demand is so high. It would be great if Soni could purchase a computer, and have the flexibility to take more classes and complete her school homework on her own time. Your donation will help bridge the digital divide between the haves and have nots.
