My need and situation
I am a 24-year-old Latina living in the Mission District of San Francisco. I have been trying to get back to school for a while and although I would like to enroll back in school; one of the main challenges for me is the tuition cost.
I really love working with and helping all kinds of people. I currently work with adults and seniors with disabilities and I am planning to attend school this summer to get certified.
My goals are to continue to provide a safe, social and productive place for those who continue to attend the program I help run. After I finish school I aspire to start my own nonprofit organization dedicated to people with disabilities.
I need help covering the costs of my studies at San Francisco City College. I have money saved, but need around $700 to cover my initial tuition payment. I am planning to take some core Early Childhood Development classes and need help to fund my books, tuition, and transportation. Even thought I am going to enroll in a community college, education is not FREE!
Meeting this need will help me because it will help relieve the worry of the debt I will accumulate. Also by being able to pay for my tuition and having all the supplies, textbooks needed for class will guarantee my success.
