An update from JARC and the Benevolent Team Dec 21, 2012

Jetaun appreciates the eight generous supporters who helped fund a security deposit for her and her family. Validator Emily says, "It's great so many of our students have had needs met, they appreciate it so much!" 

Both the validators and recipients from Jane Addams Resource Corporation will personally update their supporters once they are back from their holiday break.

My need

I need assistance with a portion of my security deposit. I am currently homeless and looking to move into an apartment for myself and my son. The security deposit is $1000 and I am looking for assistance with half, $500.

Meeting this need will help me achieve future goals because I can save money, pay rent in one location, and with my living situation improved, getting to work will not be so challenging.

My situation

After escaping an abusive relationship and moving back to Illinois, things have been rocky getting back on my feet. I went through the Jane Addams Resource Corporation's Welding training program and was able to land a job in manufacturing. I really enjoy my job and my goal is to stay employed with them for a long time to come. 

My current situation is that family members are housing my child because I have no stable living situation. I currently live house to house while working full time.

Right now, my biggest challenge is ensuring my son is getting the highest level of care and education while not in my presence. It is also difficult making sure I can get to work on time because my things are in different locations. I must continue working to support my family and prepare for my son's college career.

Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to move immediately and start the new year with a better outlook on life.

I have known Jetaun for over a year since she first enrolled in JARC's Welding Training Program. Jetaun continues to be in touch with JARC staff and involved with our services and programs.

I think meeting this need is important because Jetaun has the skills and determination to be self-sufficient but she just needs a little help to get her on her feet. 

This will move Jetaun's life forward by assisting her with half of the money to get her into her own place. She is currently homeless and working a full time job. She desires to be in her own apartment taking care of her son and providing stability for both of them.

Jetaun is a hard worker and an honest and caring person.
