Lucy from Chicago, IL

Recently housed. With a few basic household items, I can finally feel at home in my new space.

I need some basic household items and furniture will give me a comfortable place to rest and build stability.

My need and situation

I am a 55-year-old woman. I am currently a participant in the Open Doors Project, a group case management program at Chicago Lights.

My goals are to obtain permanent employment, create a peaceful space in my apartment and build my social support network.

I need some basic household items and furniture to make my studio apartment feel more like home.

Meeting this need will help me because having a comfortable place to rest will give me the stability I need to pursue all my goals.

I have worked with Lucy for two years at the Elam Davies Social Service Center of Chicago Lights and she is currently a participant in our year-long group support program called the Open Doors Project. Lucy is dedicated to working towards her goals of finding full-time, permanent employment and maintaining stability in her physical and mental health. I believe some household items would help Lucy continue on her path to success and stability.
