Diamond from Queens, NY

I'm licensed and ready! Scrubs and equipment will help me open a beauty business.

I want to apply my nursing license to a beauty business; I've obtained additional licenses and a location. I just need help with equipment & uniforms!

My need and situation

I am a 46-year old nurse. I am trying to start my own beauty business. I have already taken the necessary courses, and I am licensed in micro-blading and tattooing. I've been home from prison for a month, and find it difficult to be able to fund my business.

My goals are to get a location of my own. I want to expand my business and use my nursing license so that I can do more. I would like to employ another young lady who is having trouble finding work so that I can give back by teaching them the things that I have learned.

I need uniforms and scrubs to present myself in a more professional manner. I also need funding to purchase the necessary tools for my business such as: ink, blades, facial products, and minimal advertising for my brand. This will help me get my business started.

Meeting this need will help me because I am looking forward to be able to help others, and show them how I was able to start my business as a single mom. This is also teaching my daughters on how to empower themselves without letting the community teach them the wrong way.

Validated by PO Rodriguez from NYC Department of Probation (What does this mean?)

I have known Diamond for about a month now through the NYC Department of Probation, as I am her Probation Officer. However, in the short amount of time that I have known Diamond I have seen her fight endlessly to learn from her past mistakes and work on her business to make a better life for herself, her children, and others in the community. Diamond only has about a month since she has been released from prison and within that time period she has already been working on her tattooing and micro-blading business tirelessly trying to expand it with the little resources available to her. I referred Diamond to Benevolent because I think she is a well-deserving candidate to receiving funding to help her achieve her goals. I would love to see Diamond receive this help so that she can help herself and others.
