William from Chicago, IL

On a new path working towards a new career. I need glasses & work gear to succeed as a CNC operator.

I'm excited to be pursuing a career with advancement opportunities. I just need a few items to be able to start a stable job and support my family.

Thank you! William has received his work gear! Feb 13, 2015

William really appreciates the work supplies that he was able to get with his Benevolent funds. He has been going to interviews and is hoping to get a job in the next few weeks. He is very happy to have his work clothes, eye glasses, work boots, and measuring equipment.

Update on William's progress at JARC! Nov 24, 2014

William is doing well in the CNC Fast Track Training Program. He is currently working on writing the program for his aluminum NIMS credential. William has completed his NIMS Measurement Credential, OSHA 10 certificate, and his forklift certification.

William has also been working with the JARC employment services team. He has completed his resume, cover letter, follow-up thank you letter and two mock interviews. William also completed a technical skills mock interview that includes measurement, a mathematics test, and blue print reading. He did very well on the technical skills mock interview. He is looking forward to starting work in the CNC field.

William doing well in Training! Oct 3, 2014

Emily, William's validator from JARC, let us know he continues to do well in the CNC Training program!

William earned his first credential in training! Oct 3, 2014

He says, "I am still continuing full time in the CNC training at JARC. I have earned my first National Institute of Metalworking Skills credential and will earn my 2nd one soon. I have never been late to my training program since I have been at JARC which I believe shows my reliability and dedication to my training and my career path."

I'm a 31 year old student at the Jane Addams Resource Corporation. I recognize the importance of a career path so I am studying to become a CNC operator.

My goals are to settle down with my fiancé and have a family. I want to be able to support my family and provide a stable and steady income for us by pursuing a career path that has advancement opportunities.

I need a few things in order to be successful as a CNC operator. I need a new pair of glasses to be able to read blueprints & computer codes accurately, clothes to go on interviews, and some precision measuring tools to keep my skills current.

Meeting this need will give the basic essentials I need to be able to pursue my goals and get a job as a CNC operator. Being able to see well and to make a good first impression at my interviews will give me the confidence necessary to be successful.

I have been working with William for about two months now. He is currently enrolled in our CNC Fast Track program and is doing very well. He has already received his forklift license and his first industry credential. He is progressing in the program very well and with this little bit of help, I am confident that he will be able to obtain full time employment as a CNC operator very soon.
