My need and situation
Meeting this need will help me because my brothers and sisters can have good grades. I can get job and help my family. Meeting this need will help me achieve future goals because I can be better adapted to city life. My brothers and sisters will have good learning environment; they will have enough resources for their effective learning.
My current situation is that my brothers and sisters cannot type their homework without computer. We need computer to look for jobs, and apply online. In a city like Chicago, it is difficult to get directions without a computer. Unless we have computer, we cannot keep in touch with friends, be updated of current happenings across the globe.
I live with my parents and siblings. My parents are illiterate and siblings go to school.
I went to school in Nepal. I've worked at jobs including as a buss boy. I volunteered helping kids do their homework. I think of myself mostly as a hard working person. However, without having mastered basic skills needed to navigate city life, I cannot imagine living a successful life. If I could have a computer, my dream will be hopefully fulfilled. I'm most proud of rebuilding my life in my new home. I am highly indebted to the potential donors whom have dared to serve humanity.

Validated by Ryan from Heartland Alliance (What does this mean?)
Each need is validated by a nonprofit that knows the person and can verify that the help is necessary. Funds flow from Benevolent to the nonprofit, which then gets them to the person in need and lets us know how it went. Learn more »
I have known him - Toya- for 6 months. I am his Case Manager at a refugee resettlement agency. We are helping him build a life here in the United States.
I think meeting this need is important because a computer in this day is a basic need especially when younger family members are attending school. Toya and his family are new to the United States and in order to start their life in the proper way internet access and computer use are a necessity.
This will move the recipient's life forward by allowing them to search the internet and do schoolwork at home. Also helpful for job searching and obtaining directions by bus.
Toya and his family are hard working and honest people. In order to have successful resettlement here they need the tools necessary to be successful.
