My need
Right now, my biggest challenge is living on my own for the first time and being a mother. I'm trying to do the best for my daughter. My goal is to feel at home, to feel more comfortable with my daughter, and to have at least some furniture. I want you to know I'm only 18 years old. I raised my daughter on my own since she was born. I would do anything for my daughter. She is my motivation and the reason why I try my best everyday.
My situation
My story is, I moved from my mom's house. In my mother's mobile home lived my mom, my stepdad, two sisters and their children. I finally went on my own and got an apartment for my daughter and I. We have no furniture to sit on in the the living room. I would love to receive furniture to feel at home.

I have known this client for little over 2 years. She is activily involved in the home visiting program and she's always willing to recieve services. I think meeting this need is important because this is her first step to being independent. This client has been sharing a two bedroom mobile house with her two sisters, their five children, her step father and her mother. Therefore, it is of importance that her need is met because she needs furniture to make a home.
This will move the recipient's life forward by making her have a sense belonging in her own new apartment. Mother and child sits on the floor during meal time and relaxing time. Meeting her need will help her bond with her child and will also provide a sense of security for both. Having her own place is a big strength and a big success for this teen mother.
Maria has been homeless before. She is still in high school and has been looking for a job. She has been trying to make a difference in her child's life by providing her a safe home. Her goal is to provide a safe nurturing environment for her child. I am so proud of her because she's growing up too fast but still attending school. Kimberly always apologizes for not having any furniture during home visits. she stated that she's ashamed to invite her friends over.
