Darrel from Chicago, IL

Training toward my welding certification! Need safety equipment so I can start work.

A career in welding will help me make a better life for my family. I need steel-toed boots and essential safety equipment to start work as a welder.

My need and situation

I am a student at JARC and a father of seven children who is working towards getting my welding certification. I am a dedicated husband and father who works very hard to better mine and my family's life.

My goals are to get my welding license, be employed and to have my bills paid to ensure a better life for my family.

I need steel toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, pliers, wire cutters, a welding jacket, helmet and transportation card.

Meeting this need will help me because it will help prepare for my job and my commute to work. It will also help me with my financial burdens- even if by a little.

Validated by Gabrielle from Jane Addams Resource Corporation (What does this mean?)

I am a Program Coordinator Intern and have known Darrel through the welding program, here at Jane Addams Resource Corporation (JARC). The welding program is a 14 week, 350 hour program where trainees learn the fundamentals of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or “MIG”) processes that are used in manufacturing. Darrel is a hard worker and I want to help him with all the materials he needs for his potential new job. It would be wonderful to see him receive the help!
