Overview
I am a 37 year old mother of seven. In one of the childbirths I pushed for a very long time but the baby was stuck, and when I finally gave birth I was left with a fistula. I didn't know what it was and I lived for ten years with it until I got repaired with surgery recently.
My goals are to expand my business selling vegetables and fish. I have been earning money this way for many years to provide for my children, but it is on a very small scale. I did a business training with an organization called Beyond Fistula to learn about growing my business.
I need $250 to buy supplies to expand my business. I need storage for the fish and vegetables when I transport them to the market, and for keeping them fresh so they don't lose value.
Meeting this need will help me because I have seven children to provide for. While I was sick with my fistula, I did all I could to meet our needs but now that I am healed I can expand my business and use the larger income to afford school fees for my children instead of just food.

Josephine is a graduate of Beyond Fistula's business skills module. She already had a great foundation of knowledge from running her business for several years, despite having a fistula. I watched her eagerly learn new skills that will help her grow her business. We will continue to support her as she improves her life and the lives of her children, now without the weight of a fistula.
