Jose from Chicago, IL

I'm ready to start interviewing for welding jobs; I need safety equipment to work.

I've been studying to become a welder for months and the proper equipment will help to prepare me for interviews and to start my welding career!

Updates

Jose sends us an update: Dec 12, 2013

I have recently acquired my OSHA certification, National Institute of Metalworking Skills- MMS credential, forklift license and I also have a welding credential pending with the American Welding Society. I am still currently attending welding training at JARC.

I have been diligently searching for work every day and have been on a few welding interviews. I am hoping to land a welding job soon and would really appreciate the assistance with the welding gear. Thank you all!

My need and situation

I need a welding helmet, steel toed boots, welding sleeves, welding gloves, welding jacket, and an eye exam.

My goal is to be the best welder in the world and this gear will help prepare me to start my welding career! Meeting this need will help me because it will ensure financial security and will help me become a productive member of society, which is very important to me.

My current situation is I am unemployed and am a full time welding student hoping to get my American Welding Society Credential soon. I will be going on welding interviews in the near future and I need welding equipment to secure employment. * You may have noticed that Jose's "Needed By" date has changed. In the spirit of the holiday season, Benevolent has extended all December dates through the first of the year.

I'm from Chicago. I'm most proud of attending Jane Addams Resource Corporation's Welding Program. I'm happiest when I'm working and something interesting about me is I am striving to become a productive member of society.

We met in May when Jose was accepted into the welding program at JARC. I think meeting this need is important because Jose has become an excellent welder and is excited to start his career path. Having his own gear will give him the added confidence needed to land his first welding job. Employers will also see that he is more prepared. Jose is a very hard worker and has proven that to JARC staff the entire time he has been in our welding training program. Jose has a quiet determination about him and he is focused and intent on his goals.
