Ricky from Chicago, IL

Getting back on my feet! A TV will help me manage stress & keep moving to my goals.

I'm living on my own for the first time since being in recovery. A TV will help me make it through my 1st winter clean and on my own.

A BIG thank you from Ricky! Nov 23, 2015

Ricky says, "I just prayed yesterday that I would get the T.V. and now look.... You all have helped me so much! Thank you for all you do!"

Thanks to everyone who stepped in to help Ricky continue to move towards his goals. The way you give truly is transforming.

I am a 50-year-old man with over 15 years experience in janitorial/maintenance work. I recently secured my own apartment in a supportive housing program and am looking for full-time employment.

My goals are to go back to trade school to eventually obtain my CDL license and become a truck driver. I hope to stay housed, find employment and be at peace in my own home.

I am in need of a small TV, antenna and DVD player for my apartment.

I believe that having a TV would be a great coping tool for managing stress and maintaining my mental health and recovery needs as I work towards my goals.

Validated by Cassandra from Chicago Lights: Elam Davies Social Service Center (What does this mean?)

I have known Ricky through the Open Doors Project group support program at the Elam Davies Social Service Center of Chicago Lights. Ricky is highly motivated in working towards his goals. Currently, he is stably housed, maintaining his recovery for mental health and chemical dependency. He is actively pursuing further training, educational and employment opportunities. I believe that having a TV would provide a positive coping tool for Ricky as he works towards these goals.
