My name is Michael Orton I'm a job coach/outreach specialist. I work for a non profit organization Black Veterans for Social Justice. I often network with employers We are a community based organization that has food pantry ever 2nd and 4th Friday every month, providing groceries to the neighborhood. Our main goal is to end veteran homelessness in NYC. We assist and help all veterans no matter the background, and provide them employment assistance, including housing assistance. We offer paid training for security licenses and provide Metro cards for appointments and interviews. We also hold employment workshops that way we can work on interview skills, and give insight on what employers are looking for.

The housing assistance goes through our SSVF program. We assist in rent pay, and moving in cost for homeless veterans, also aid in debt with landlords.
