Megan Kashner is a self-proclaimed “Ticked-Off Social Worker” who loves to turn conversations, programs and approaches on their heads. A seasoned impact sector leader, Megan is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Kellogg’s Public-Private Interface and Director of Social Impact. Megan is also the founder of Benevolent - a platform using bleeding-edge technology and leveraging donor proclivities to fill gaps in the safety net for low-income families.


Megan holds an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, has a Master's from the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration and a B.A. in Public Policy from Brown University. She has spoken at the White House and at national conferences on social innovation, philanthropy and entrepreneurship. She has been featured on CNN, in FastCompany, Mashable, MSNBC, the New Yorker and more. Megan, her partner and their two teenagers live in Evanston.

Lorrie L. Lutz is the Chief Strategy Officer for Benevolent's parent organization, the Fedcap Group, overseeing areas including strategic planning, engagement and communications, innovations in program design, the Community Impact Institute, the National Center for Innovation and System Improvement, the Leadership Academy and the agency-wide Metrics That Matter initiative.


Lorrie brings a wealth of experience in large scale system change, program design and implementation, technology implementation, and public policy reform. In her work with The Fedcap Group Lorrie has developed Get Ready!™ and PrepNOW!™ –web-based, interactive platforms to advance the educational success, college entrance and graduation of youth in foster care.

LPrior to coming to Fedcap, Lorrie served as the President of L3 P Associates, a consulting firm specializing in enhancing the quality of social services. Lorrie also served as faculty for the Georgetown University Center for Juvenile Justice Reform and was a primary author of the Center’s Crossover Youth Practice Model. She was also on the faculty for the Casey Family Programs Breakthrough Series on topics such as Reducing Disproportionality and Disparate Outcomes in the Child Welfare System, Improving Child Safety Assessments, Foster Parent Recruitment and Retention, and Trauma Focused CBT.

Elizabeth Schwan-Rosenwald is a recognized expert in cross-sector partnership development, leadership development, and capacity building for the nonprofit sector and pro bono consulting. She has worked with Fortune 500 companies, government, and the social sector to build, lead, and advance the use of service and civic engagement as a resource for communities worldwide. Outside of Benevolent, she serves as Vice President of Supporter Relations for Leadership for Educational Equity.


Previously, Elizabeth was the Chief External Relations Officer at the Taproot Foundation, where she oversaw partnerships, marketing, and communications, and she launched and implemented initiatives that advanced the landscape of pro bono. Elizabeth also founded 20% Theatre, an all-women’s theatre company dedicated to addressing the inequity of women and power imbalance in the theatre arena. Her 20+ nonprofit fundraising career spans some of Chicago’s most prominent arts organizations. Elizabeth holds a BA from Smith College in English and Theatre and is a graduate of the American Express Leadership Academy.

Geoff brings years of experience in nonprofit-to-nonprofit relationship management to bear to help Benevolent process the requests of our nonprofit and government partner organizations. Prior to joining Benevolent, Geoff spent five years at ReServe, another division of Benevolent's partner organization, The Fedcap Group. Geoff has a passion for social issues, and earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison before eventually ending up in New York City. He is excited to have the chance to further push the innovative Benevolent idea forward in a world increasingly in need of smart compassion. Outside of Benevolent, Geoff works as a freelance illustrator and story artist, a path stemming from a childhood love of comic books.

Samantha ensures that our clients are able to get the money they need to improve their lives and that Benevolent has the ability to help as many people as possible for many years to come. She received her Masters Degree in Accounting from DePaul University and is a member of the Illinois Certified Public Accountants Society. For the past five tax seasons Samantha has volunteered to help senior citizens complete and feel more confident about their taxes. Before becoming an accountant Samantha had the opportunity to travel to India where she taught English and Math to orphans and underprivileged children. She currently spends her free time with her child, reading, biking around Ann Arbor, MI, and working in her yard.
