Billiam from Chicago, IL

Training every day to become a welder. I need welding gear to get a job.

I've applied for multiple jobs already but I need gear to make sure I don't miss out on an employment opportunity.

Updates

An update from Billiam! Jul 17, 2015

Billiam's validator, Jessica, just sent us this exciting update! Check it out!

"Hi all! Today Billiam picked up his brand new welding helmet and gas cards! He is currently working in a hospitality job but is applying to a large number of construction jobs that require welding -- one with an interview for early next week! Billiam is continuing to look for jobs with welding and we are so excited to see where his employment journey leads him!"

Overview

I am a current student at Jane Addams Resource Corporation. I am currently unemployed. However, I attend training every day and have applied for multiple jobs already, as well as to work in the trains. I am very conscientious with the resources I do have, using email when available to save minutes on my phone for employers, and using gas for getting to and from class.

My goals are to finish training and find a sustainable career in welding. I am a go-getter, self-starter, determined and ambitious person. I will do whatever it takes to be successful.

I need welding gear: a helmet, jacket, sleeves, and steel toe boots.

Meeting this need will help me because it would remove some obstacles standing between me and self-sufficiency. I would not have to worry about missing a job opportunity. I will be on my way to being independent and building a career.

Billiam came to JARC in the summer of 2014 and was debating between JARC and another welding school. He is committed to the career path he has chosen and decided on attending JARC's training. Since then he has consistently applied for jobs as well as the trades union, focusing on and researching his new career path. I have been impressed with Billiam's dedication and drive.
