Overview

I am a 25-year old transgender individual looking to get an IT A+ certification to hopefully one day start my own store to build custom computers.

My goals are to get an IT A+ certification to have a wider field of tech related jobs open to me. I have been working with and building gaming computers for several months and enjoy it very much.

I need to take my exam at the end of this training that is prohibitively expensive, as well as assistance with transportation to get to class and back home. My current job is temporary and this class will take away the time I would otherwise have available to work, and I have several possible job opportunities I am waiting to follow up on.

Meeting this need will help me because having the A+ certification will open the door for more job opportunities. I find that building a computer and seeing the computer boot up for the first time is very rewarding. I would love to see a customer with their new computer walk out the door with a smile on their face.

I met DeeDee through Center for Changing Lives' CompTIA A+ Certification class. The six-week class will provide her with all the skills she needs to pursue her career in building computers. DeeDee is passionate about gaming, intelligent, and excited to start this chapter of her life.
