Steven from Tucson, AZ

Working hard to enter a career in Electrical Utility Tech. I need a laptop to make it there!

I need a laptop to successfully complete my coursework and certification. Having access to my own laptop will help me balance my job and schoolwork.

I am a 19-year old student. I am trying to complete a certificate in Electrical Utility Technology in the hopes to gain employment. I have been attending Pima Community College for 2 years.

My goals are to work for Tucson Electric Power. I hope to begin my career with them and move up in the company. Getting a position with this company will help me provide for myself and future family.

I need a laptop to successfully complete my coursework. Currently, I travel to the campus to use their computers, which is tough when I also work.

Meeting this need will help me because it will give me more time to complete my school work at home and not having to drive to the campus everyday to do my coursework.

I have known Steven for 1 year through the Get Into Energy Program. I am assigned as his Career Coach to help him complete the program and apply for jobs. He is close to completing the program and the laptop will be a great benefit to him by allowing him to complete his school work from home and reduce the time he spends traveling to the campus.
