Tony from Tucson, AZ

Striving toward a career in energy. Help me buy a laptop to complete my program.

My goal is to find a stable, well-paying energy job. I need a laptop to help me with my coursework and to apply for work in the industry.

Overview

I am a 19-year-old student. I am currently enrolled in a community college in the Get Into Energy Program. I am in my first semester and I work full-time in a warehouse.

My goals are to earn my Associates Degree in Building and Construction and get a job with an electrical utility company. This would help me become financially secure and help me pay for an apartment.

I need a laptop to help me with my course work and to start applying for other jobs that are related to what I am studying in school. My work schedule changes every two weeks and that makes it hard for me to find a computer to use to do my school work.

Meeting this need will help me because I will have the tools I need to be successful in school and to hopefully get a better job, so I can help my family out financially. I would be the first in my family to earn a college degree.

I have known Tony for four months as his Program Advisor for the Get Into Energy program. He is eager to begin his life as an adult and help get his family out of welfare. He works very hard in his classes and participates in all the extra activities we provide. The laptop will help him out tremendously to be successful in his classes.
