Enrique from Chicago, IL

I'm ready to get my GED to move forward, but first need to pay the testing fee.

I want to enter a career as a caregiver for animals. I need to study materials and test fees to take the GED test.

Updates

Enrique is nearly there! Nov 18, 2016

We received an exciting update from Enrique's validator Kayla at the Center for Changing Lives:

"Enrique is gearing up to take his GED tests! He has attended classes and feels ready to sit for the exams. He has made plans with CCL to schedule each exam and is grateful for the Benevolent funds he received to cover the costs. We are excited to see him take this next step!"

Overview

Ever since I was little, I have grown up around animals. I love playing with them, training them, learning from them, and just being around them in general. I'm not currently working, and am spending most of my time caring for my handicapped girlfriend and working with Center for Changing Lives on my employment and financial goals.

My goals are to obtain my GED so that I can find employment. I am passionate about animals and want to pursue a long-term career working with animals in an animal care or veterinary setting. To start this process, I need my GED.

I need help paying for school supplies and the GED test. The test itself costs $130. I would also like to purchase supplies and a GED preparation book to help me study.

Meeting this need will help me because it will allow me to get my GED, which is required by many of the animal care jobs that I am looking for to start the career that I'll love.

Enrique has been diligently working with Center for Changing Lives (CCL) since December. He works with our employment and financial coaches each week and has made such tremendous progress towards his goals. Taking GED classes and passing his GED test are the next steps in moving towards his ultimate goal of working with animals. Getting support from Benevolent supporters will make him so much closer to this goal. We are so excited to see his hard work and dedication pay off!
