Overview

I am a 37 year old single male who has worked as a certified pharmacy technician. I am currently homeless and am living in my vehicle. I was staying at the men's shelter which is limited to a 17-day stay. I do work full time while I continue looking to find a job that pays a livable wage.

My goals to become independent and build a solid foundation for myself by getting stable housing. From there, I would like to continue my education so I can help those in situations like mine find an easier way.

I need assistance with a security deposit to move into an apartment. My job pays enough to afford rent, but not enough to save for the security deposit needed to get into my place.

Meeting this need will help me because it will provide me a place to lay my head at night to get a good night sleep without the worry of the police harassment or being arrested for sleeping in my vehicle and losing my job because of it.

Charles had been staying at the men's shelter, located a block away from our resource center. For the past 6 months he has been coming in to use the resource center computers to search and apply for jobs, look for rental housing, and tax preparation. Charles is determined to get his life back on track. He keeps a positive outlook to keep moving forward no matter what obstacles set him back. He is a hard worker and at times when many would give up, he refuses to accept defeat. I have know doubt that he will succeed and to see him receive this help would be great.
