Overview
I am a single parent with six children. I am struggling with severe depression and poverty. I have begun attending a community college, and am enrolled in two courses, science and communication. I cannot afford to purchase the required books for the class.
My first goal is to complete my associate's degree in preparation for a nursing program. My next goal is to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
I need help buying books, purchasing a parking pass and paying school fees.
Meeting this need will help me to feel better about myself, knowing I will one day be able to support my children and myself and lift us out of poverty.

Rebeccah came to CERI five months ago and shared she had been depressed for ten years. She was not always depressed. As a young woman she worked full-time, attended school, and cared for her family. She was vibrant and happy. She is a child of Khmer Rouge survivors and is now beginning to understand how vicarious trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress contribute to depression. She is working hard to manage her severe depression and move forward in life. She does not have an adequate support system and has shown tremendous courage in coming to CERI and asking for help. Any financial support you can offer her will go a long way in assisting her to reach her academic and personal goals.
