Overview

I am Julia, a single mother of one 4 year old daughter. I attend Jane Addams Resource Corporation and I am training for a career in manufacturing. I recently moved from a transitional housing program into an apartment of my own, but I'm in need of rental assistance while still in training.

My goals are to have a NIMS certificate in Computer Numerical Control. This will enable me to get a better job and have a sustainable living.

I need some help with paying my rent because while I am in school I can only work part-time. Once I have found a manufacturing job I will be able to fully support myself and my daughter.

Meeting this need will help me because I will have shelter and will be able to concentrate and focus on my program and complete it so I'll have a better future for my child and I.

I was blessed to start working with Boma this summer! She sought training in order to get a better paying job to support her young daughter and is currently juggling work and school. In these months together I have seen her overcome many obstacles with sheer effort and grace, qualities I know will carry her far. Right now her challenge is securing affordable housing in order to maintain stability for her and her daughter. She is working very hard to save up money and with a little extra assistance, Boma will surely reach her goals.
