Simone from Chicago, IL

I'm overcoming homelessness! A pull-out couch will give me a good night's rest.

I need a sleeper couch to be able to have somewhere to sleep as well as sit and do my homework as I train to get my CDL license.

Overview

I am 49 years old and currently working to pull myself out of homelessness by obtaining a job and a new apartment. I'm also about to start school to get my CDL license which will put me in a better position to have a stable future.

I just moved into a new apartment and have no furniture or household goods, so I'm starting with nothing and trying to build something. Having my own apartment makes me feel good. I can call it my own and be comfortable which will help move me toward my goals to obtain my CDL license and a stable job. This will enable me to maintain stability.

I need a sleeper couch to be able to have somewhere to sleep as well as sit and do my homework.

Having a sleeper couch means that I have somewhere to get a good night's sleep. Being well-rested and fresh will help me be ready for each day's accomplishments as I move forward through the first days of the rest of my life.

Simone has been working with her CCL coaches for about a month. She has worked hard on her goal to have stable housing and work. She has created a resume, created a financial plan, and taken strides towards her vision. Simone is very consistent and remains motivated to succeed. We are excited to see her start school and continue on her path to achieving the things she wants for herself! Being able to have basic household goods and furniture, especially a bed, will support her as she continues to thrive.
