Overview
I'm a Digital Literacy Instructor. Before I started this position, I studied Sociology as a first generation college student, and I completed a non-profit fellowship and several jobs and internships in government and non profits.
As a Digital Literacy Instructor, my goal is to teach students the digital literacy skills that will help them find jobs and reach economic stability. I aim to do this by creating and developing class content that has direct, real life applicability.
I need $685.50 to cover 3 months of Metra and CTA Link-Up passes in order to get to and from my position. A monthly Metra pass costs $173.50/month, and a monthly CTA Link-Up Pass costs $55/month. These monthly costs are difficult to budget while living on my modest stipend.
These funds would not only help me to get to and from new position, but by meeting this need I can also use the remainder of my budget toward more aggressive payment of private student loans. My private loans are currently my biggest expense, and since graduating college I have only been able to afford paying the absolute minimum amount every month. Meeting this need would mitigate this stressor so I can focus more of my energy on digital literacy tasks.
