Overview
I am a 40-year-old woman, experiencing homelessness for the first time after a car accident left me unable to work and pay my rent. I have a master of divinity degree, and am working currently as a part time dog walker while I apply for more permanent positions.
My goals are to find meaningful full time employment, hopefully within the field of ministry which is my passion, and to find safe, permanent housing. To this end I am working closely with the Center for Changing Lives to connect to positions within my level of skills and experience.
I need some assistance in paying for the storage space where I am keeping all of my belongings while I stay in a shelter. Currently all of my earnings are going towards bills (car and phone), and I am unable to make payments on this storage space, leaving my belongings at risk. If I can make the minimal payments on this space, I can ensure that I will not lose all of my belongings during this very difficult time.
Meeting this need will help me because I hope to move into a new apartment within 6 months (after finding stable employment), and it would be wonderful not to lose my belongings in this already very challenging process. I think it will make a world of difference not to have to replace my belongings, both financially and personally. I would deeply appreciate any help in maintaining the safety of my belongings!

I have been working with Deb through the case management program here at the Lincoln Park Community Shelter, supporting her in her goals of stable employment and permanent housing. Deb is incredibly dedicated and motivated towards her goals, and could use some financial support as she works towards rehousing.
