Bunk beds and phone cards to help my twin granddaughters stay stable and secure

A restful nights sleep and staying in contact with their mother while she's in prison will help my twin granddaughters stay strong and healthy.

Thank you! Mar 28, 2013

Thank you all for everything you've donated for me - today and all the other times you've helped me and my grandkids. Now, they're my grandkids no more. I'm their legal guardian and now they're my children and I thank you all for everything you've done for me. May god bless you all - have a good and blessed Easter and happy weekend. Thank you.

Overview

I need a bunkbed for my granddaughters and phone cards to call their mother. This includes a bunk bed, mattresses, sheets, pillows, phone cards, and maybe even a pair of pajamas for the girls.

Meeting this need will help me because the girls will feel more comfortable. I know over time, they will know that they are always secure with me, but right now they are going through a lot, and I want to make it as easy as possible.

Meeting this needs will help me achieve future goals because right now we can barely make ends meet, and having this taken care of will help the girls and me. It will also help my daughter to know that they are safe, comfortable, warm at night, and taken care of.

My current situation is that my daughter is in jail, and I ended up taking care of her twin five year-old daughters. I love them so much. They are just my heart. But things are tough. I am disabled, and I am trying to get together the things the girls need to feel comfortable and at home with me.

Right now, my biggest challenge is trying to get the girls in school and make sure that they are at home with me. I also want to make sure that they can talk to their mom and keep up that relationship.

I thank people VERY MUCH. Everyone who helps - you are all in my prayers at night. I think about how many good people there are when I lay down at night.

I think of myself mostly as a really good mother and grandmother. My children and grandchildren are my heart. I'm most proud of each day that I live - and that I get to spend it with my grandbabies.

I live with my two granddaughters and my husband.

Something interesting about me is I am a very religious person, but I believe in being open to all different religions.

I can't thank people enough. This means the world to me and the girls. I can only say that God is good.

I have known Meg for several months. We first met her through her daughter, and we have been so impressed by Meg's dedication to her granddaughters.

I think meeting this need is important because these two little girls have been through a lot. Those bunk beds will help them to feel comfortable and cared for in their home and will help them as they adjust. Those phone cards will help them maintain their bond with their mother - helping them and their mother. That will also help Meg, because she desperately misses her daughter.

This will move the recipient's life forward by helping the whole family to feel more settled and at home. As the girls start school, having a good night's sleep is even more important. This will also allow Meg to focus on doing the things she really needs to do right now - having this need met will allow her to focus on their other concerns.

Meg is a caring, amazing woman. She is a religious woman, but she also tries to read books from religions other than her own so she can learn about world views. She calls her granddaughters her whole world and is committed to making wonderful lives for them.
