Updates

Thank you Apr 26, 2013

I would like to thank Benevolent and their supporters, they are the greatest. With my new glasses I see better and with my new welding helmet, I'm feeling better and it helped me with my 90 day review. I received a 92 rating, which was outstanding my company says. I just want to thank you again and pray you keep helping people, God Bless!

I think meeting John's need is INCREDIBLY important because this helped John meet his quality weld product standards at work which in turn helped him pass with flying colors is 90 day probationary period at his new job (not to mention the fact that he shows up an hour early every day just because he is that dedicated of a worker!!).

This will move John's life forward by providing a stable income and future for him and his daughter. This helps John gain more valuable welding skills as well!

John is such a dedicated guy to his work and to his daughter. When John puts his mind to something he does it. He makes everyone at JARC incredibly proud!

Overview

I need welding gear and bus fare because I just got my first welding job! This includes an eye exam, prescription welding safety glasses, and welding equipment such as a welding jacket, helmet, boots, and gloves. I also would like bus fare to help with transportation costs to get to and from my job in the beginning.

I was training at JARC and starting to interview for welding jobs and I landed one! I just started my first welding job at a company in Chicago! I realized that I really need an eye exam for my welds to be perfect. I need to get prescription safety welding glasses. When I got the job, I went and bought some reading glasses from the Dollar Store to get me by. However, I know that I really need prescription safety glasses. I am nervous that my welds are not perfect right now and I need to keep this job so this is a top priority for me! I also need welding equipment and bus fare to help me get to work for the next couple of months.

Meeting this need will help me because I will see better, I will weld better, which will also mean possibly getting raises and promotions. Meeting this need will help me achieve future goals because it will help me have better welds and ensure meeting my 90 day probation period with stellar reviews from my supervisor.

Right now, my biggest challenge is not being able to see as I am welding. I really need the prescription glasses and an eye exam. I also know that my first couple of paychecks are essentially gone already with back debt and bills.

I think of myself mostly as a hard worker and a father. I'm most proud of being a dedicated father and a welder.

I went to school at Jane Addams Resource Corporation. I've worked at jobs including warehouse and auto mechanic.

Something interesting about me is I work hard at taking good care of my 8 year old daughter.

I have known John since he enrolled in our welding training program in October 2012.

I think meeting this need is important because he found his first welding job which is key to him finding stability for him and his daughter. His first paychecks are pretty much already eaten by past debts and he needs these prescription welding glasses urgently in order to keep and succeed at this new job.

This will move John's life forward by maintaining good performance on the job.
