An update from Michael Apr 8, 2013
Thank you very much for the glasses. I am always very appreciative when someone goes out of their way to do something like this for me. Now with my new glasses, I can study for my drivers exam and start my search for the right school to pursue my mechanical engineering degree. So once again thank you so very much and God bless you!
Update from the Benevolent Team Apr 8, 2013
We have just received word from Inspiration Corporation that Michael has gotten his eye exam and received his glasses!
Overview
I need an eye exam and glasses. This includes lenses and frames.
Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to see and feel better about my self having a good pair of glasses.
My goal is to study and take my driver's license exam and apply to school for my four year degree in mechanical engineering.
My current situation is I work part time selling newspapers for the Chicago Sun Times. I live with family and have no health insurance.
Right now, my biggest challenge is not being able to complete my short term goal of getting my drivers license back and not having glasses is stopping my long term goal to return to school.
I think of myself mostly as a a person who is always willing to be there for someone else.
I'm most proud of the friends I have gained over the many years I have been selling newspapers.
I've worked at jobs including car detailer and care taker.
I have completed 3 years of college towards a Political Science and History degree at San Diego State. I worked hard to get the vote out for our current president during both of his elections.
I am a graduate of the Employment Project at Inspiration Corporation.
Need funded!
Thank you for helping Michael fund this need.

I have known Michael since August of last year when I was assigned to be his Career Specialist. We also work together on Inspiration Corporation's Participant Leadership Forum, where he serves as co-chair.
I think meeting this need is important because it will boost his self-esteem and help him achieve his short- and long-term goals.
This will move Michael's life forward by allowing him to see the world clearer, literally.
Michael is a quiet, gentle soul who is avid in his political convictions. He loves African American History and sharing a good story with others.
