Esther

Esther from Eldoret, Kenya

I've been through a lot. Now I want to open a dressmaking business.

I need $200 to buy supplies; I've learned tailoring and I want to use that skill to build a brighter future!

Overview

I am a 30 year old fistula survivor. I was married and pregnant, but the labor was long and difficult and I was left with a fistula. I was in a lot of pain and my husband divorced me. Now I live with my mother.

My goals are to earn income through dressmaking. I am learning tailoring from an organization called Beyond Fistula and after I graduate I want to start my own business.

I need $200 to buy supplies for my dressmaking business. This will pay for fabric and a sewing machine.

Meeting this need will help me because once I am earning income I can move into my own home. I want a brighter future after what I've been through, and being a dressmaker will help me work hard to build a better life for myself.

We will be supporting her with regular check-ins as she gets her need met and gets her business off the ground.
