Overview

I need welding gear to be able to show employers that I am ready to start my job. This includes welding helmet, welding jacket, steel toed boots, welding cap, welding gloves, safety glasses, welding pliers, and channel locks.

My goal is to have my welding gear which will help me be prepared for my interviews and hopefully and prayerfully help me on my job in the future. Meeting this need will help me because it will mean the world to me that I can receive some help during my time of need. I would really appreciate it. I've never had anyone help me before. 

Right now my biggest challenge is being about to keep my daughter from seeing the tears from us struggling so much for so long. Being away from her while bettering myself is a challenge too. 

My current situation is I'm currently a single parent of a 12 year old daughter whom I take care of. I attend school and work one day a week. I take my daughter to school and pay someone to pick her up in the evenings when I attend school. I came back to Jane Addams Resource Corporation to better myself and for my daughter. I always wanted a career and be able to start something and finish it.

I would love for my donors to know that I appreciate people that take the time out of their life to help someone like me that is trying to better themselves and some day when I get on my feet I will bless someone else.

I think of myself mostly as a strong woman that needs to think more of herself. I am a woman that stands tall and wants more out of life. I am patient for blessings and am already blessed with the little that I have.

I'm most proud of coming back to school. I am proud that I never gave up and I'm mostly proud that I am raising a daughter to do the same. Something interesting about me  is that I never give up! I love to communicate and I love taking care of others. I'm nurturing, hard working, and very independent. 

I've worked at jobs including customer service, warehouse, and food service.

I have known Terry since she enrolled in the Women in Manufacturing Program in November of 2012.

I think meeting this need is important because Terry is so excited to change her career and work as a welder. Having this welding gear will only boost her self confidence in being a welder, showing up to interviews prepared and feeling like she belongs in the welding world.

This will move Terry's life forward by assisting her in her career goals to become a welder and start a career in manufacturing. Terry has her forklift license, her OSHA credentials and an American Welding Society Credential and all she needs now is a job!

Terry has been incredibly dedicated to her training program, sticking it out and staying motivated to complete it. She is a committed mom and hopes that by pursuing her career goals she can teach her kids a valuable lesson in following through and pursuing what you love.
