Margaret from Eldoret, Kenya

I want to support myself with a farm. With just $200 I can buy starting supplies.

I need seeds, tools, and fertilizer. I have land and have been taught farming skills, but I need funds to grow my farm.

Overview

I am a 38 year old fistula survivor and wife. I got a painful fistula from a difficult childbirth, then had surgery to repair it. Now I am healed and ready to earn a living.

My goal is to start farming so that I can support myself. After my surgery I completed a farm skills training at an organization called Beyond Fistula, and I want to use what I learned to earn an income.

I need $200 for seeds, tools, and fertilizer. I have land that I started growing a few crops on after the program.

Meeting this need will help me because I am healthy, motivated, and have the skills to run a successful small farm. Once I have the money for supplies, nothing will be standing in my way.

Margaret completed the Beyond Fistula farm skills training after she recovered from fistula surgery. She was lively and engaged, and clearly has the ambition to run a successful small farm. Margaret is motivated and has the support of Beyond Fistula moving forward - we will follow up with her on her path of recovery.
