Aide

Aide from Chicago, IL

I'm training in welding. I need safety equipment for my workshops, and career!

I need a helmet, gloves, jacket, and steel toes boots. These will keep me safe, give me confidence, and set me up to find work after I graduate!

Overview

I am a high school graduate in the manufacturing training program at JARC. I firmly believe that any situation can provide something to learn from and ways to improve.

My goals are to improve my welding skills and get a stable job in metal working. Getting a steady income will allow me to resume my education and become the first in my family to attend college.

Welding workshops are very lively and filled with hazards. For this type of trade, I would need a welding helmet, thick leather gloves, a long sleeved jacket and steel toed boots. All of these articles would protect me from heat, sparks, heavy objects, and electrical hazards.

Not only would it keep me safe, they would also provide me with confidence in and around the workshop. Having my own personal protective equipment early on will provide for a smooth transition into a job and allow me to stay focused on improving my skills as a welder.
