Overview

I need a queen size mattress with a bed frame, a full size mattress with a bed frame and a dining room table with 6 chairs.

Meeting this need will help me because my children and I will have beds to sleep on and a place to share family dinners. It will also ease some of the financial stress that I'm going through right now.

My goal is to become employed soon and enroll in GED classes. I try hard to do my best at things and so I want to go back to school to get my GED because I would like to have a career in culinary arts. Meeting this need will allow me to concentrate on moving forward and provide for my family.

I would like to become a better person and mom and set good examples and goals for my children. I don't want to give up on myself and I want to keep looking forward for better outcomes. I want to put God first in all we do.

My current situation is that I am unemployed and I am trying to go back to school for my GED. I cannot afford to buy beds and a dining room set for my family. I have applied to numerous positions but I have not been successful.

I'm from Chicago, IL and I have lived here all my life.

I live with my six children. They put a smile on my face every day. They are the reason why I'm happy and I try hard to keep them on the right path so they can have a better future. My oldest has graduated from High School while my youngest is in first grade. I'm happiest when I hear good reports about my kids in school. I'm also happiest when my daughter sings and when my son plays the guitar at night. I'm most proud of my oldest, who studies very hard and speaks more than one language. It makes me feel special as a mother to see my child succeed!

Something interesting about me is that I love music and to dance. I'm funny and silly at times and I love comedy shows.

We met when Sarafina was referred to me by her son's therapist close to two months ago. I have met with Sarafina every week when she brings her son to therapy at the center to discuss her needs.

I think meeting this need is important because Sarafina will be able to concentrate on finding employment and enrolling in school. Meeting this need will alleviate some of the financial stress on Sarafina and will allow her children to have family dinners and a good night sleep before attending school.

Sarafina is a joy to work with. She is always positive about her future even when she is struggling to make ends meet. She brings her son to therapy every single week and is very committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for her children.
