Overview
I am a 47 year old woman living with mental illness and a chronic cardiac health condition. I've worked on and off for the last several years, but I know that having my own business is the best fit for my energy level and ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
My goals are to be self-employed in my own photography business, 'Lauren's Flash Forward Photography'. I have received training in photography and have been selling my photography notecards and frames at local craft fairs and small shops. My goal is to grow the business so that I can cover the cost of supplies and printing. In time, I hope to expand to sell my pictures at bigger venues and shops.
I need a laptop and printer to produce, edit and store my photographs as well as other uses needed for a small business. I currently use my phone for all my computer needs which is insufficient.
Meeting this need will help me because photography is a big part of my recovery and it helps me to decrease mental health symptoms. I am a positive, creative person who wants to work, but it is difficult to maintain a regular schedule. Having this business is a great answer for me, and I especially like to use the photography sales to support local nonprofits.

I have known Lauren since she started coming to the clubhouse four years ago. She is hard working and capable, yet can be challenged by her physical ailments that sometimes keep her from getting out in the community; this in turn effects her mental health. Photography has been a positive outlet and she enjoys getting out in nature to find interesting subjects for her pictures. She uses initiative to sign up for craft fairs in order to maximize sales, and often donates some of the proceeds she earns to support charities that mean a lot to her. Having her own computer will help her develop her ability for effective self-employment.
