Nancy from Narok County, Kenya

Support me so I can start selling baskets and earn more money to feed my children!

I need $300 to buy fibers from the Kenyan sisal plant and other supplies so I can start making baskets.

I am a 25-year-old mother of two and fistula survivor. I developed a fistula during childbirth and lived with the symptoms of leaking urine for about 7 years. After 11 different surgeries, they were able to repair it and I no longer leak. I currently work as a bead worker making jewelry, however, I want to contribute more to my family financially. I recently took a basket-making workshop with an organization called Beyond Fistula.

My goals are to start creating baskets to sell so I can make more money to support my family financially.

I need $300 to buy fibers from the Kenyan sisal plant and other supplies so I can start making baskets.

Meeting this need will help me because I need to make a larger income to support my family. Making jewelry is not making enough money to feed my family. I need supplies to start my basket-making business.

Nancy is a vibrant young woman who survived a fistula. She has a huge drive to provide for her family but needs materials to start her basket-making business. She survived her fistula, awful symptoms, and 11 different surgeries and she is ready to support her family. I have faith in Nancy to be very successful and am excited to see her succeed.
