Overview
This includes Cresent Pass Through Socket, Multi-hole Step Bit, Circular Saw, Half Inch Drill Driver Kit, Gear Wrench, Socket Set, Non Contact Voltage Tester, Stub Screw Driver, Reciprocating Saw, Rotary Hammer Drill Kit.
My goal is to complete my training the five years and I can not move past the first year that I am currently in without theses items. The recent trials that my family has experienced (homelessness) have humbled me. It has given me a better appreciation for others who are also currently dealing with this. I want to be able to provide my children with all the items necessary to have the best possible start in life (good education, shelter, etc.)
My current situation is I just re-entered the working world after losing my business. After being selected for this prestigious program, I have found it difficult to acquire all items necessary. In order for me to continue in my training these tools are vital as I progress towards self-sufficiency and stability while paying back debt and contributing even more to my community.
Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to progress in my training and hopefully start my own business. I will be able to help my loved ones and friends with the skills and knowledge I have gained. Having these tools while help me be in a position to better financially support my family and have a career not just a job.
I'm from Washington Metro Area. I live with my wife and daughter. Something interesting about me is I have videography skills and have created professional marketing pieces for non profit organizations. I'm happiest when I am actively pursuing my goals. I'm most proud of my family and work hard to achieve goals that better us as a family. I have two daughters, ages 9 and 2 1/2. They mean the world to me! My youngest attends Early Head Start and my oldest is in 3rd grade. My main goal in life is to be the best parent I can be.
I work hard every day as part of an Electrician Apprenticeship program with a local union. I started it last year after wanting to better myself and the lives of my loved ones. I love what I do and find the work stimulating and will provide for long term stability for my family.

We met when he and his family entered The Dwelling Place Program in Dec. 2012. I think meeting this need is important because he will be able to better provide long term for his family and have a career and now just a low wage job. This is a specialized trade that he can use to start his own business.
He works full time M-F 6a-2p. After that he picks up his youngest daughter from daycare, comes home cleans and cooks. He also studies for his program and completes homework assignments. He never once complains about the stress of such high demands on his time and energy.
