I now have my apartment and my keys and am ready to move forward!"

Overview

My name is Dechiel. I am 46 years old and am leaving a domestic violent situation after 22 years.

My goal is to maintain a safe environment for myself. I have been approved for an apartment, but I do not have all of the money to move into that apartment. My goal is to be stable so that I can complete my schooling and get myself back on track. My job at The Empowerment Plan gave me the confidence to leave my abusive situation and start over my life and achieve my goals. I want to empower others ladies to walk away from similar situations.

I need money for the security deposit for my new apartment that will allow me to be independent and safe.

Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to move to a secure and safe building. It will also help me move closer to my job.

I have known Dechiel for 2 months. I first met Dechiel at the non-profit, The Empowerment Plan, where she has been working as a seamstress for almost one year. While working with Dechiel, I have found that she is a highly motivated woman who is always seeking to achieve her personal and career goals. She shows up to work everyday with a positive attitude and continues to work hard to create a better life for herself. Since working here, she has already transitioned out of the homeless shelter and is in the process of finding independent housing. Your support will make a significant impact in Dechiel's life.
