Kimberly from Chicago, IL

Restarting my life in Chicago! I need household items like pots and pans and bedding.

I'm transferring my LPN license to IL so I can work. In the future I plan to become an RN. Household goods will get me started in my new life.

Overview

I relocated to Chicago in May of 2014 shortly after having my home foreclosed. Moving from one place to another without being able to afford rent, I lost most of my belongings.

My goals are to become employed and have my license as an LPN transferred to Illinois. My long term goals are to continue my education and get into the Bridge Program at City Colleges of Chicago to transition from LPN to RN.

I need bedding, pots and pans, dishes, a hot plate, towels, a fan, an iron and an ironing board.

Having these basic things will provide a platform for me to achieve my goals. Cookware will enable me to prepare nutritional meals and keep my diabetes within a normal range while bedding will allow for a good night's rest which is essential to reaching my full potential. A fan will help keep my apartment cool and comfortable during Chicago's hot summers. Any donation will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I met Kimberly through the employment project at Inspiration Corporation. She has shown great drive and enthusiasm to succeed and advance through completing Inspiration's 4-week Employment Preparation Training. She is an LPN and currently pursuing further education to become an RN. It would be great to see her get this funding to help her continue with all the success she is pursuing.
