Overview

I am a 23 year old student! I had a job at a pizza shop, however, I got injured and lost the job. I tried to pursue other employment opportunities and eventually decided that it would be better to start my own business. I came to the Afghan Coalition knowing they have a Micro Enterprise program that helps people start their own businesses.

My goal is to create a carpet cleaning business because it is a need that most people in my community have, however, not a lot of people are willing to do. Once this business gets started I hope to invest in more business opportunities to become more financially independent and provide jobs for people who are in my position.

I need a Kirby vacuum cleaner in order to start this business. This tool can be used on both cars and carpets which allows for me to offer more services to clients.

Meeting this need will help me because buying a vacuum is the only thing standing in the way of starting the business. Having this job will allow me to pay for school so that I can pursue more opportunities.

I have known Wally through his involvement with the Afghan Coalition. His family has been involved with our nonprofit for years and I can see his determination to provide for himself and his family. Even with his situation and need Wally is determined to work hard and even willing to help. He has volunteered to help us with some of our projects that reach out to the youth in the community. He deserves this chance to provide for himself and his family.
