Jesse from Chicago, IL

I'm overcoming homelessness. I need supplies to succeed in my job training program!

Training for a job is tough without a home base. Supplies, such as a sturdy pair of boots, a USB drive, and books, will help me complete my program!

Overview

I am a presently unemployed and homeless. However, in just a few short days I will be attending Inspiration Corporation's Employment Program. I am also excited to simultaneously begin classes at Truman College.

My goals are to graduate from Truman College with a degree in Liberal Arts. My hope is that this achievement will serve as a stepping stone to my larger dream of working in social services in order to support people who have experienced similar obstacles.

I need to invest in a sturdy pair of boots so I can get around to my different classes and employment program trainings. I am also in need of a few school supplies and a USB drive so that I can work on assignments at the library and have a place to save my work in addition to my resumes and cover letters for employment as I pursue my degree.

Meeting this need will help me because the items will benefit me on my road to gainful employment, education, and hopefully, some day, my dream job. I am motivated to reach these goals, I just need a helping hand to get started.

I have been working with Jesse for the past few months. He is an incredibly motivated individual. In just a few short weeks, he has independently gotten involved in job training, school, and applied for financial aid. He has also recently gotten into a shelter that provides him a safe and warm place to stay. However, due to the high traffic, he will benefit from studying at the library. With the items he plans to acquire through Benevolent funds he will be set up for success as he takes on a new and exciting chapter in his life.
