Edelmira thanks you for helping her ailing mother find comfort. Aug 25, 2016

Edelmira's validator, Annie from Erie Elementary Charter School, shared with us this heartrending message from Edelmira:

"I wanted to say a special thank you to all those who helped fund Edelmira's need for medical supplies for her ailing mother. It is with sadness that I tell you that her mother just recently passed away.

But Edelmira said she was lovingly cared for and passed very peacefully. Thank you to you that helped make that possible by giving support to Edelmira in that time.

We appreciate you."

Overview

I am a grandmother supporting my 6 children and 2 grandchildren. I have recently became solely responsible for taking care of my 94-year-old elderly, ailing mother. I currently have a full-time job on the night shift in a busy inner-city trauma center.

My goals are to take care of my mother as best as possible while she is in her last years of life. I want to be able to do this while still supporting my kids and grandchildren.

I need help purchasing a variety of medical supplies that with help my mother be more comfortable and will also help me transport her to the doctor.

Meeting this need will help me continue to provide for my family while giving my mother the care she needs. Since I just recently became her guardian and caretaker and am still supporting the rest of my family, the funds for her care are simply out of reach at this time.

I have known Edelmira for many years. She is a huge part of our family here at Erie Elementary! she works tirelessly to support her family, putting them through college, caring for a a special needs daughter and bringing her granddaughter to and from school each day so her mother can hold a job, all while working the late shift at a very stressful job and now taking care of her ailing 94-year-old mother.
