Overview
I am a 25-year-old single mother from Kenya. I am an obstetric fistula survivor. I am the oldest of 8 children and I have 2 children. My mother was killed one and a half years ago and my father deserted our family. I am now the head of my family.
My goals are with my newly acquired tailoring skills to open my own dressmaking shop and sell fabric and dresses to women in my community.
I need a sewing machine, materials and money to pay my first month's rent on a small space to do my business.
Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to provide for my family and send both my children and my siblings to school.

I am the Program Coordinator for Beyond Fistula in Kenya. Mercy has lived in my house for the past year while doing her vocational training. Mercy has acquired excellent sewing skills. She is responsible, hardworking and has worked hard to overcome her difficulties.
