Emily from Eldoret, Kenya

Independent mother of 4. I need inventory to make a go of my business.

My husband abandoned me and our 4 children when I was diagnosed with fistula. I need help starting my clothing business to make an independent living.

Overview

I am a 25-year-old single mother. My husband abandoned me and our 4 children because of the fistula I received with my firstborn. I went through a 3-month vocational training and life skills program. I am now well and caring for my children without the support of my family.

My goals are to increase my used clothing business so I can continue to feed my children and pay for their school fees. I hope one day to return to tailoring school to improve my skills and work as a tailor

I need funds so that I can purchase inventory for my used clothing business.

Meeting this need will help me because I am currently living on my uncles farm but will need to leave next year. I will need to find a place for my children and I to live and will need to pay rent. I desire to better care for my family and eventually achieve my dreams.
