Increase My Career Opportunities with Welding Gear

I want to be able to start a job as a welder as soon as I graduate from this program but I don't have the funds to buy the equipment I need.

An update from JARC and the Benevolent Team Dec 21, 2012

Zoe appreciates the two generous supporters who helped fund her welding safety gear. Validator Emily says: "It's great so many of our students have had needs met, they appreciate it so much!"

Both the validators and recipients from Jane Addams Resource Corporation will personally update their supporters once they are back from their holiday break.

Overview

Hello, I am Zoe and I am a student at Jane Addams Resource Corporation. I am currently enrolled in the Women in Manufacturing Welding Program.  This is an exciting time in my new life. I am very talented, skilled and driven to succeed in the welding field and in life. At this particular time, it is financially difficult for me raising three children alone and being able to afford the welding gear required to meet my goal of being prepared to have a career in the welding field.

I need Welding Equipment to better my Welding Career Opportunities. This includes Steel Toed Boots, Welding Jacket, Welding Gloves and a Welding Helmet with prescription lenses.

I will be prepared to start a new job at my time of graduation. My future goal is to get to work, start a new career and get my life back on track. Assistance with meeting this need would help me transition back into the workforce.

Right now, my biggest challenge that I deal with and face because of my need is the fear of not being ready to start a new job in the welding field. My biggest challenge is having to choose between the needs of my children's day to day life and the need I have to be prepared for work.

I would be very grateful to reduce stress and not have to juggle my finances or have my daughters do without what they need, in order for my needs at work to be met.

I am very grateful for any help that I receive and to receive donations would relieve stress so I can concentrate and produce effectively in my training program.

Thank you for taking the time and patience to view my profile.

I am a newly single mother of three daughters starting a new career in welding.

I'm most proud of being my father's daughter. My father raised me so basically I turned out to be a strong female with a lot of hands on experience in the field of construction. This has helped me prepare for my welding career.

I graduated from Lane Tech High School and went a couple of years to college only to get married and starting to build a family. I am currently a student of Jane Addams Resource Corporation, Technical Training Center for the Metalworking Trades.

I've worked at jobs including carpentry, plumbing, data entry, customer service, shipping/receiving clerk and masonry apprentice.

Something interesting about me is I am outgoing, I am fast learner and a hard worker. I am also very artistic and creative. I plan on carrying my career in welding into my passion of creating art sculptures out of metals.

I live with my mother, father and my 3 daughters.

I have known Zoe since she entered our Women in Manufacturing Program. She is a current Women in Manufacturing Welding Student.

I think meeting this need is important because Zoe has an opportunity to start over and start a new career. She has been through a very tough life situation and is now on her own with her daughters and trying to make a better life for them. She wants to show her daughters that they can make it on their own and don't need to rely on anyone else but their strong selves.

This will move Zoe's life forward by assisting her in starting her welding career.

Zoe left an abusive situation and is now on her own. She says she may be broke and struggling but at least her and her daughters are free and happy together.
