Stacey from New York, NY

I'm a survivor of domestic violence. A sleeper sofa will make my new apartment a home.

I am proud to say I recently moved from homelessness into my own apartment again! I need a comfortable bed to get a healthy night's sleep.

Overview

I am a 44-year-old survivor of domestic violence. I am now proud to be back on my feet after a long stretch of ongoing abuse. I am legally disabled; suffering from spinal disk issues, chronic back pain and had major reconstructive surgery on my leg.

I have a huge love for animals and a year ago was blessed with a wonderful service dog. I would love to start volunteering my time at a local animal shelter.

I am proud to say that I recently moved into a brand new studio apartment. I need a new sleeper sofa. At this time, using what I currently sleep on, I wake up in horrible pain and on many days in tears.

Having a new sleeper sofa will help me in so many ways. My back pain will be reduced immensely, allowing me to do my daily tasks and volunteer my time at the animal shelters.

I have been Vanessa's social worker for around a year and a half, helping her work towards her goals and ambitions. I am proud of her. She is a thoughtful and determined person, and has come a long way. She is dedicated and has a deep love for her service dog, and she would be a great asset in giving her time in helping other women with service dogs.
