Thanks from Resi Dec 12, 2018
I am shocked that people are so generous. How do I even begin to thank you for changing my life? I will be getting a sewing machine and supplies to begin a small sewing business in my village. I will be the first and only tailor in my village. Please know you have changed my life and are giving me the chance to make something of myself. I never imagined that something good would come out of having an obstetric fistula. You have shown me that there is good in this world. Thank you and god bless you.
Overview
My name is Resi and I am a 22-year-old student, wife, and obstetric fistula survivor. I got an obstetric fistula in 2017 after a prolonged and difficult delivery. I lost the baby and have lived with shame, pain and leaking of urine and feces for one year. In 2018 I had surgery to partially repair the fistula and I need to have another soon to completely fix it. I live with my parents while I am in school.
My goal is to earn an income as a tailor. I have completed a tailoring program and a business training with an organization called Beyond Fistula, so now I have the skills to run a small tailoring business.
I need funds (total of $200) to buy a sewing machine ($120) and bolts of fabric and supplies ($80) to start my tailoring business.
Meeting this need will help me because I have the skills to do tailoring and run the business The only thing standing between me and making an income is a sewing machine and supplies to start. Once I have these, I will be independent financially and personally and I can move forward after suffering with a fistula. I plan to work and continue studying and hope to help other fistula survivors in the future.
Need funded!
Thank you for helping Resi fund this need.

Resi is a motivated young lady. She has persevered despite suffering with the shame and odor and leaking from her fistula. Now that she is partially repaired (she needs another surgery), she is ready to work harder in school and wants to use her newly acquired sewing skills to earn money and to support herself in school. She has learned to sew through the Beyond Fistula vocational training program and has attended our business skills workshop. I have confidence in Resi's ability to succeed.
