Cynthia from Eldoret, Kenya

I'm recovering from surgery. I need to cover a fee to continue my vocational program.

After developing a fistula from giving birth, I am determined to get my diploma. I need to cover my program fee and some basic supplies.

I am so amazed at your generosity. I plan to work hard and plan to devote my time to helping others like you have helped me.

Overview

I am a twenty-year-old student in Kenya. I developed a fistula from giving birth and not having access to medical care. I lived with the leaking fistula until I got surgery to fix it recently.

My goal is to finish my education. I just finished my final paper to get my diploma in finance and administration. When I get the results back I want to continue my studies in another program starting in the new year.

I need school supplies, books, and funds to cover my school fee in my next program. This is $200.

Meeting this need will help me because my way forward is to be educated and get a job to support myself. I know from having a fistula that I need to be able to support myself because sometimes other people will not be able to help me. Money for my school fee, my uniform, and my books will remove the only obstacle between me and my education.

Thank you for helping Cynthia fund this need.

Beyond Fistula has sponsored Cynthia in high school for the last few years and we have helped to pay for Cynthia's college. Cynthia was like a modern day Cinderella growing up- she was treated poorly at home and grew up living with the shame and stigma of having a fistula. After being repaired and attending school, Cynthia has transformed into a truly incredible young woman. It makes me proud to see how determined and confident she has become. She is one of the shining stars of our program and I see great things in her future. She has no support from her family and the support she gets from Benevolent will be a huge help to her. She will make you proud.
