Overview

I am 59 years old and I've been going to Above and Beyond Family Recovery Center for 4 years. I'm a recovering addict with 24 years clean and sober.

My goals are to try and help as many people as I can and show them there's a way out of the pain and suffering, that there's life after addiction and a good life. I hope to give hope to people who have none.

I need to get my CADC (Certified Alcohol Drug counselor) certificate, so that I can be certified to do counseling. I also want to update my wardrobe to be appropriate for counseling -- all my suits are very old.

Meeting this need will help me because having my CADC will make me much better at the job I love and I'll be able to help people even more than I already do. As a professional counselor, I should also look like one -- at work, meetings, and if I have to go out and talk to people. You only get one chance to make a first impression! I want to be the best I can be and it wouldn't hurt to look like it too.
